Sidekick was involved in the first phase of a pedestrian-minded redevelopment block in the heart of Des Moines’ East Village neighborhood. Sidekick was part of the JSC team, the team selected the architect, design build team, and general contractor. The East 2nd Street Ramp utilizes an effective footprint that provides a parking solution to the area without impeding on the nearby retail, office, and living space. The City of Des Moines and the Owner’s Representative collaborated on the six-level building’s post-tensioned concrete structure that accommodates 540 parking spaces encased by an array of 336 solar panels.
